TIMETABLE CHANGES ON 31 DECEMBER 2023 DUE TO THE VIENNA NEW YEAR'S EVE RUN 2023

On Sunday, 21 April 2024, the Vienna City Marathon will take place in Vienna. Due to the many road closures in Vienna, the bus service of Vienna Airport Lines will unfortunately have to be suspended at some stations for a short time or the bus routes will be shortened.

VAL 1: Airport - Vienna Westbahnhof - Vienna Hauptbahnhof - Airport

VAL 1 will be short-routed from 09.10 a.m. to 01.15 p.m. Please use the station Hauptbahnhof to get to the airport during this period.

  • from 00.00 a.m. to 09.00 a.m. VAL 1 is operated regularly (from Westbahnhof via Hauptbahnhof to the airport and back)
  • between 09.10 a.m. and 01.15 p.m. VAL 1 only serves the stations Wien Hauptbahnhof and Airport. The station Wien Westbahnhof is closed during this period.
  • from 01.30 p.m. to 00.00 a.m. regular service again (from Westbahnhof via Hauptbahnhof to airport and back)
  • The departure and arrival point at Vienna Central Station is on bus platform R.

VAL 2: Airport - Vienna Morzinplatz/Schwedenplatz - Airport

VAL 2: Vienna Morzinplatz/Schwedenplatz stop will be closed from 09.00 a.m. to 01.15 p.m.

  • Until 08.15 a.m. VAL 2 runs from the airport to Morzinplatz/Schwedenplatz and at 08.00 a.m. as the last bus before the stop closure back to the airport.
  • From 01.15 p.m. to 11.15 p.m. VAL 2 will run again regularly from the airport to Morzinplatz/Schwedenplatz and from 02.00 p.m. to 00.00 a.m. from Morzinplatz/Schwedenplatz to the airport.
  • Please use the VAL 1 station Wien Hauptbahnhof to get to the airport (and back to Vienna) between 09.00 a.m. and 01.15 p.m.
  • The departure and arrival point at Vienna Central Station is on bus platform R. 

VAL 3: Airport - Wien Donauzentrum - Airport

The stops Wien Donauzentrum to Wien Kaisermühlen VIC are closed from 05.30 a.m. to 11.40 a.m.

  • Between 05.30 a.m. and 11.40 a.m., VAL 3 will be short-routed only to or from Krieau. 
  • First VAL 3 bus from the airport towards Donauzentrum at 02.00 p.m.
  • First VAL 3 bus from Vienna Donauzentrum to the airport at 11.58 a.m.
SCHEDULE CHANGES ON 20 APRIL 2024 DUE TO THE VIENNA 5k 2024

The VIENNA 5k will take place in Vienna on Saturday, 20 April 2024. Due to the many road closures in Vienna, bus services on the VAL 2 line of Vienna Airport Lines will unfortunately have to be cancelled for a short time at the Morzinplatz/ Schwedenplatz stop.

Morzinplatz/Schwedenplatz stop will be closed from 5.30 p.m until 7.20 p.m!

  • Direction Vienna Airport, the last bus before the bus stop closure will depart at 5.30 p.m. The first bus after the closure will depart at 7.30 p.m.
  • Direction Morzinplatz/Schwedenplatz, the last bus before the bus stop closure departs from Vienna Airport at 5.15 p.m. The first bus after the lockdown departs at 7.15 p.m.
  • Before and after the closure, VAL 2 runs regularly from the airport to Morzinplatz/Schwedenplatz and back.
  • During the bus stop closure, please use the VAL 1 station Wien Hauptbahnhof to get to the airport (and back to Vienna).
  • The departure and arrival point at Vienna Central Station is located on bus platform R
